Former Portobello Old Parish Church

Community Hall Renovation – Underfloor Heating Installation

RBT was appointed to design, supply and install the underfloor heating system for the refurbishment of an existing community hall.

Following a detailed review of the project drawings and specifications, our technical team identified potential issues with the originally proposed system. We worked closely with both the main contractor and the project architect to discuss the challenges and recommend a more suitable solution.

As a result, the design was revised to incorporate our RBT EPS400 low-profile underfloor heating system, which was bonded directly to the newly installed chipboard subfloor. This solution minimised floor build-up while delivering an efficient and reliable heating system.

The completed installation now provides independently controlled heating zones, ensuring consistent and even heat distribution throughout the building while improving overall energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Our RBT EPS400 system is an ideal solution for renovation projects and first-floor applications in new-build properties, where floor height and weight restrictions make traditional screeded systems less practical.
