School Extension, Aberdeen – Underfloor Heating Installation

RBT was appointed to design, supply and install the underfloor heating system for the extension of an existing school in Aberdeen.

The installation commenced with the placement of XPS300 high-compression insulation boards, specifically selected to withstand the loading requirements of the project while providing excellent thermal performance. The insulation was accurately cut and laid to suit the floor layout before being covered with a vapour barrier. An 8mm perimeter edge foam was then installed to accommodate the natural expansion of the screed during heating cycles and to minimise the risk of cracking.

Our PE-RT underfloor heating pipework was installed in accordance with the approved design layout and securely stapled into position before being connected to the manifold system.

On completion of the installation, the entire system underwent a full pressure test to verify its integrity and performance. The test results were recorded, documented and signed off prior to handover, ensuring the installation met both project specifications and quality assurance requirements.
